“When thrown into boiling water, do you respond like a potato, an egg, or coffee?” It is not surprising that Iza Antonio, being an accomplished chef before becoming an Insurance Entrepreneur, ended her sharing during AIA PH’s Business Opportunity Program with this question.
A potato softens in boiling water. Do you become weak when faced with life’s challenges or do you become strong like the hard-boiled egg? Better still, do you become like coffee which dramatically changes the water? In times of crisis, don’t you only face it head-on but change the situation into something fruitful like coffee which entirely changes plain water into something palatable?
This got me thinking about the roller-coaster journey of my life. I discovered that my responses to the critical moments of my life were never the same. There were times when I went through bouts of depression. There were also times that I stood tall and did not budge at all. And there were times when I successfully turned failures into golden opportunities.
How about you? Do you respond like a potato, an egg, or coffee when placed in a formidable situation?
How did the pandemic affect you? Did it crush your spirit that you felt you’re helpless to do anything significant about it or did it make you even stronger, ready to endure anything that would beset you? Or did it change your perspective, causing you to pivot and transform your life for the better?
